Fans flocked to Hap Parker Arena for Coy Cup 2024 games from March 26 to 30, especially when the hometown team was playing. Eight games were played over the five days to determine the BC senior AA hockey champion, five of which featured the host Powell River Regals.
Terrace River Kings outlasted the Regals in a classic, triple overtime championship game thriller, which followed a dramatic semi-final comeback by Powell River 24 hours earlier against Williams Lake Stampeders.
Earlier in the week, during the round-robin portion of the four-team tournament, the efforts of Dennis Dyer and Cliff Milne, two late members of the Regals, were honoured with an on-ice ceremony.
