Twenty-four local enthusiasts participated in pickle ball’s first ever tournament, Saturday, April 12.
The winning team members were Doug Hartt, Reg Hollinshead, Julie Leon, John Catcher, Wendy Thomas and Brian Miller.
Pickle ball is held at Oceanview Education Centre gymnasium from 4 to 6 pm on Mondays, 6 to 8 pm Wednesdays and 1 to 3 pm Saturdays. Cost is $2 per person or purchase a book of 10 tickets for $18 at Powell River Recreation Complex. Game equipment is supplied at the gym.
Players new and seasoned to the sport are welcomed, and more information is available by contacting the complex.
