Sunshine Coast regions face off in mixed dart tournament

Last weekend had 24 dart players playing off in Zone 4 (Sunshine Coast Legions) competing to move onto playoff in the provincials to be held in Cranbrook, March 14 to 16.

Last weekend had 24 dart players playing off in Zone 4 (Sunshine Coast Legions) competing to move onto playoff in the provincials to be held in Cranbrook, March 14 to 16. This is an annual event for all Legions throughout Canada for Dominion Championships which will be held in Port Stanley, Ont., May 23 to 26. 

The finals for the zones came down to competition between Branch 109 (Gibsons) and Branch 164 (Powell River). The doubles final was between Stan Sierpina and Lee Illing (Powell River) and Ritchie Gibb and Nels Jorstad (Gibsons) with Ritchie and Nels winning the match to move on to the provincials. Singles came down to Kevin Warman (Powell River) and Ritchie Gibb (Gibsons) with Ritchie winning the match. The team games were between Stan Sierpina, David Illing, Chris Redman and Chay Clark (Powell River) and Ritchie Gibb, Nels Jorstad, Selina August and James Rhodes (Gibsons) with an exciting win for Gibsons with two wins for Powell River and four wins for Gibsons to move onto the provincials. 

All the participants had a great time and witnessed some of the best games. Congratulations to the Gibsons winning players and good luck in the provincials.
