Powell River Regals Hockey Club faced its first opponent in more than 20 months on October 15 and 16.
Vancouver Island University (VIU) Mariners posted a pair of wins, including an 8-2 win over the home team in game one.
In the video below, Brett Kinley provided the highlight of the night for fans of the Regals by blasting a one-timer past the Mariners goaltender.
VIU is a member of the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League, which includes University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University and Okanagan Lakers (UBC Okanagan and Okanagan College).
Regals will compete for the 2022 Coy Cup provincial championship with other senior AA teams in BC. The next home dates for the club have yet to be announced.
