BCHL: Victoria earns weekend sweep over Powell River Kings

Home team falls to Grizzlies for second straight night but picks up point in overtime loss

Drew Hockley scored the lone third period goal and added the overtime winner to lead the visiting Victoria Grizzlies to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Powell River Kings on Saturday, September 21.

Alex Loftgren, Jaxon Fuder, Marek Beaudoin and Niccolo Mansueto scored for the Kings, who held leads of 3-1 and 4-3 in the second period. Wyatt Davis and Thomas Belzil set up two goals each for the home team. Stone Rolston, Tobia Pitka and Reegan Hiscock were the other goal scorers for the Grizzlies.

Both teams converted a power play opportunity into a goal; Victoria had three chances with the extra attacker while Powell River went one for two on the night.

Elliot Pratt made 32 saves for the Kings, who were outshot 37-30. Attendance at Hap Parker Arena was 752. 

Grizzlies also edged the Kings by one goal in the same venue 24 hours earlier.

Powell River travels to Vancouver Island this weekend for a pair of games, in Duncan on Friday, September 27, and Saturday in Nanaimo.
