BC Hockey League released its official 2023/2024 schedule on June 23, which has Powell River Kings opening the new season on the road in Merritt against the Centennials on September 22.
The following week Powell River will open the home portion of the schedule at Hap Parker Arena with a pair of games. Victoria Grizzlies will provide the opposition on September 29, then two-time-defending Fred Page Cup champions Penticton Vees visit on September 30.
All home games will take place on Fridays and Saturdays, with 14 of the league’s 17 teams coming to town. Nanaimo Clippers and Alberni Valley Bulldogs will visit four times each, while the Cowichan Valley Capitals and Victoria play three games each at Hap Parker Arena.
Aside from the Vees, three other interior conference teams will be making the trek up the Sunshine Coast. Salmon Arm Silverbacks will be in town on October 28, followed by Trail Smoke Eaters on November 3. On December 1, Cranbrook Bucks will make their first ever visit to Powell River.
The majority of home games will start at 7 pm with the exception of Saturday games against Island division opponents, which will start at 5 pm.
The season will conclude on March 30 with the Kings playing their final four games on the road, including stops in West Kelowna and Vernon.
