Clippers score three power play goals en route to multi-goal win

A power play goal early in the second period stood up as the winner for Nanaimo Clippers in a 7-3 win over the visiting Powell River Kings on Saturday, September 28.

Jaxon Fuder and Thomas Belzil each scored once and helped set up another goal for the Kings. Wyatt Davis scored the third and final goal for his team, cutting the lead to 5-3 prior to the second intermission.

Powell River outshot its opponents for the second night in a row (40-29), but again lost by multiple goals after dropping an 8-2 decision the night before in Duncan.

Clippers went three for five on the power play while the Kings scored once in four chances with the extra skater. Sam Grabner, Marek Beaudoin, Ryan Arnold and Brendan Giles were credited with assists for the Kings, who remain winless on the season after four games to start the BC Hockey League (BCHL) season.

Attendance at Frank Crane Arena was 966.
