Powell River Kings forward Randall Smisko proved he is one of the most skilled players in the league at the BC Hockey League all-star game.

During the skills competition, Smisko beat out his opponents in the agility contest, taking top honours in the event. Smisko, along with fellow Kings Chuck Metcalfe and Peter Trumbley, travelled to the game in Chilliwack to represent the coastal division and show their stuff.

A total of 28 goals were scored in the all-star game, and not a single penalty was recorded on the score sheet, which was a BCHL record. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the game was the score, which was tied 14-14 after regulation. A shoot-out was held to decide the winner. Former Kings goalie Kyle Stanton, now playing for Langley, shut down all three Interior Conference shooters in a brilliant performance between the pipes.

The coastal division team's Jared Dumba was the only player to score, giving his team the edge. The three Kings managed a point each in the contest, with Smisko scoring a goal and Metcalfe and Trumbley each picking up an assist.

Smisko's win in the agility contest was one of five events held. Trail's Cam Keith was chosen as the Interior's game MVP and won as fastest skater. T] Caig of the Penticton Panthers recorded the hardest shot at 138 km/h and Vernon's Kenny MacGowan won the one-on-one showdown. Quesnel's Jason Montgomery beat Jordan Sigalet of Victoria to claim top goalie status.
