Powell River Regals celebrated a Savage Cup win in Trail in March of 2005.

Powell River Regals claimed their 10th Savage Cup title on March 26, 2005. The coveted trophy, awarded to the BC senior AAA hockey champions, was won for the first time by the Vancouver Rowing Club's hockey team in 1913.

During round-robin play, Regals defeated Kootenay Royals 9-4 and the host team Trail Smoke Eaters 7-1 to advance directly to the final, which ended up being a rematch with Trail.

John Coyle, Darell Mitchell, Glendon Cominetti (two), Dean Shiels and team captain Rick McLaren scored for the Regals in the championship game, a 6-1 win. Chad Vizzutti was the winning goaltender.
