Hap Parker Arena hosts the fourth annual Battle of the Badges on Saturday, March 29.
Puck drop for the game between Powell River RCMP and Powell River Fire Rescue is scheduled for 6 pm, but doors will open at 5 pm for fans who wish to get an autograph from and photo with special guests, Vancouver Canucks alumni Dave Babych and Chris Higgins, who will also be on ice during the game.
RCMP Safety Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog mascots will make live appearances and be available for photos. They will also compete in a first intermission mascot challenge.
The event will feature a concession, beer gardens, 50/50 and silent auction. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the RCMP detachment on Barnet Street, the fire hall on Courtenay Street, TAWS on Marine Avenue, 460 Realty on Joyce Avenue, or at the door (cash only) on game day.
All proceeds will go to Powell River Professional Firefighters Charitable Society’s Feed the Kids Program (powellriverfirefighters.ca) and Cops for Cancer (support.cancer.ca).
