In memoriam: Rob Arnstein

A deep thinker, he had a big heart and a great sense of humour

After a long battle with Parkinson’s and various complications, my husband now flies free. 3:45 am, Sunday, October 27, 2024.

In better health he was a member of the Community Band, sat on the Library Board while transitioning to our new library, was on the board of the First Credit Union, and was involved with the Green Party both here and on the island. He was a volunteer. Prior to coming to Powell River, he played trombone with the Roberts Creek Big Band and was on the board of the Sechelt Neighbourhood Housing Board. A deep thinker, he had a big heart and a great sense of humour.

Survived by wife Liane, his children Willow and Aharon, four wonderful grandchildren, two brothers in the USA, Fred in Boston and Hal in California, and his little dog Mitzi.

There will be a scattering of ashes/memorial in the spring for close friends and family. Donations to Four Tides Hospice Society, the local SPCA, Friends of the Library or Therapeutic Riding are all good causes that Rob supported and would have appreciated.
