It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Thulin of Powell River, BC, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was born on July 12, 1943 and was predeceased by her beloved husband Gary and daughter Debbie.
Jeanette will be greatly missed by her children Rick (Paula), Scott (Tania), daughter Kelly Sketchley (Ivan); her brothers Ron Nolan and Mike Nolan (Lois); grandchildren Ryan (Agnieszka), Lauren (Andre), Lee, Conor and Jayden; and great-grandchildren.
Born and raised in Powell River, Jeanette spent her early years in Cranberry before living in a variety of places, including Burns Lake, Vancouver and Victoria. Upon her return to Powell River she met Gary. Together they built a life filled with love, adventure and joy. Jeanette and Gary shared many happy hours on the water, boating and travelling together, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Jeanette was known for her infectious smile, quick wit and a sense of humour that could light up any room. She lived a full and vibrant life, always surrounded by family and friends and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In her final years, Jeanette was lovingly cared for at the Evergreen Care Unit; we are forever thankful for the compassion and support she received.
A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at Cranberry Senior Centre in Powell River from 1:30 to 4:30 pm on February 22.
