Frances passed away on May 29 with her daughter Laura by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon, of almost 59 years.
Frances was also predeceased by her parents Mac McNicol and Lorna (Best) Morton; stepparents Muriel McNicol and Willis Morton; and brother William McNicol. She is survived by her daughters Trisha (Gord) and Laura (Louis), granddaughters Samantha (Chris) and Jennifer (Eric), and two great-granddaughters.
Frances met Vernon because of a horse, and they had horses for much of their lives, along with many other animals on the only property they lived on for their entire lives together until both of them passing within 45 days of each other. She was involved with the Powell River Trail Riders Club from its start.
Frances was an avid photographer, always taking pictures of family, and wrote many poems and a life’s worth of journals.
Frances and Vernon enjoyed many trips to the interior of BC, always taking many photos along the way.
Mom saw me take my first breath into this life, and I was privileged to be with her as she took her last breath from this life.
