David Perrin, age 72, of Powell River, passed away from complications of being stubborn, refusing to listen to doctors (or anyone for that matter) and raising hell for the last seven-plus decades. Esophageal cancer played a minor role in his demise.
David was born in Bangor, Wales, raised in Cumberland and moved to Powell River in 1972. He met the love of his life, Trudy, in 1978. Three years later, they welcomed their only son, Justin (Jay).
David worked in the forest industry for 45 years and loved fishing, hunting and everything sports or cars related, but his greatest joy was his grandsons Gavin and Reid.
He spent most of his time at his favourite place, the cabin up the lake, his record nights there being 285/365 days one year. You could find him with ice-cold Lucky in hand, surrounded by family and friends, usually borrowing something (we kindly ask you to return those things).
David will be greatly missed by his wife Trudy, his son Jay (Leah), grandsons Gavin and Reid, his sisters Dorothy (Mark) and Dawn (Gerald), and all his extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 24, from 1 to 3 pm at the Forest Bistro and Lounge, Powell River.
