It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadean deWynter on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from a sudden and serious medical complication. Bernie was born on September 22, 1946, to Jack and Mabel Wolford in Powell River.

Bernie was predeceased by her parents and her brother Ed. She leaves behind her devoted husband John, loving son Drew (Sandy and Gracie) and loving daughter Denielle (Emma and Connor). As well, Bernie is survived by her sister Dennise Whitson and her brother John Wolford.

Bernie and John were married in 1970 and moved to Kamloops, where they enjoyed raising their children and the outdoor activities, as well as their cabin on Shuswap Lake.

Bernie obtained her registered nurse designation in 1970 and enjoyed the challenges and professional relationships that she experienced in her 30 years working in the operating rooms of Royal Inland Hospital.

After leaving Kamloops in 2000, Bernie travelled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to work at King Faisal Specialist Hospital operating rooms for over three years.

Bernie cherished her family and enjoyed travelling and vacationing with them for many winters in San José Del Cabo and more recently at their winter golf course home in Palm Springs.

Bernie will be remembered for her warmth, selflessness and thoughtful generous heart. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who were blessed to meet and know her.

At Bernie’s request there will not be a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bernie’s name may be made to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in White Rock, BC.
