It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Alice Piché on October 27. She was predeceased by her husband Conrad and son Yves. She is survived by her daughter Marie-Josée Piché (Herbert); grandchildren Katharina (Stephan), David, Sophia (Emmanuel), Vincent (Lana) and Isabelle (Mitchell); three great-grandchildren Ben, Anna and Banza; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Alice moved from Quebec to Powell River in December 2006. With her vibrant personality and positive attitude, she made many friends through the French Club, the Fine Arts weaving group, neighbours and community activities she joined.
Recurrent themes in comments about Alice: A kind soul, lovely and pleasant lady, and talented weaver willing to learn and share her knowledge, and a great sense of humour. She leaves a great gap behind, but the twinkle in her eye remains with us forever.
Many thanks to the ER and ICU staff, Dr. Awopetu, Dr. Musini, who showed great compassion, respect and kindness while providing care. A celebration of life will be set at a later date. If you wish, donations can be made to Salvation Army Powell River.
