Washed out area of Westview's sea walk cleared

Activity resumes along popular pathway

The sea walk in Westview is looking like its old self today.

A closed sign was still in place at one of the entrances during the day on Wednesday, April 2, even though the section of the popular path washed out last week has been cleared. One of the photos above shows that people were using the path again, despite the sign.

On March 27, a water main break on Invermere Crescent caused the washout of a highway bank on Marine Avenue and led to the temporary closure between the south harbour coast guard station and viewpoint.

At the time, City of Powell River anticipated that repairs would take a few days to complete.
