A head-on collision in Roberts Creek between two vehicles Saturday afternoon has sent three people to hospital with serious injuries and caused a multi-hour highway closure.
Sunshine Coast RCMP received several reports of an erratic driver in Roberts Creek at around 3 p.m. Saturday and shortly after received a report of a head-on collision, said a press release.
The highway is closed in both directions between Flume Road and Roberts Creek with a detour available through Lower Road or Lockyer Road. Drive BC says there's a detour via Beach Avenue using Marlene Road and Robert Creeks Road.
The RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are investigating.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the erratic driver and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call RCMP.
