Here's the Peak's snow creation contest winner, plus runners-up

Anne Baker was part of the crew who built a couple of snow persons in Grief Point Park last week

Choosing a winner from among the submissions to the Peak's snow creation photo contest was difficult, but after much deliberation, Jaspreet Soor and Anne Baker posing with a pair of stylish snow people they helped build took top spot. The builders will share six passes to watch a movie at the Patricia Theatre.

“We had a fun, fun time,” Anne shared with her submission, which also included two other photos. “I invited new neighbours from South Africa, Dave Powrie and his boys Luke and Jordan, and Jaspreet Soor from Kenya. We built two creative snow persons (Trevor and Molly) in Grief Point Park."

The group used charcoal for the eyes, of course a carrot nose, lemon or zucchini slices for buttons, beach rocks for mouths, branches from the trees for arms, and deciduous tree branches for the wild hair. The scarf and hat were supplied by Jaspreet.

“It was so fun; I hadn’t made a snowman in over 30 years,” added Anne. “They all had a blast, and lots of giggles, too.”

Congratulations on a job well done to everyone in the qathet region who sent in photos, several of which are highlighted here as runners-up. We hope everyone enjoyed playing in the snow. Who doesn't?
