Powell River Board of Education trustees have asked parents, teachers and school staff when they prefer spring break, 2014. An online survey, with room for comments, provided three options.
First option would be to hold spring break over two weeks starting Friday, March 7 with students returning to school on Monday, March 24.
The second option would be to have spring break over two weeks starting Friday, March 14 with students returning on Monday, March 31.
In the first two options, two days of the break would be counted as “in lieu” days for two summer Pro-D days.
The third option would be to have spring break over one week Friday March 14 to Monday, March 24.
Over 350 people responded to the survey. The majority of respondents (219) said that they prefer spring break from March 14 to 31.
