BC Ferries is adjusting the schedule on the Earls Cove-Saltery Bay route as of June 3.
The company is also resuming service on the Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay) route on June 3. This brings back three routes operating out of Horseshoe Bay. The schedule on the Earls Cove-Saltery Bay route will be adjusted to ensure connectivity for customers.
According to BC Ferries scheduling, the first four sailings of the day from Saltery Bay during the morning will remain the same. In the afternoon and evening schedule, the ferry will depart at 3:40 pm, 5:30 pm, 7:20 pm and 9:15 pm from Saltery Bay.
According to a media release from BC Ferries, in keeping with direction provided by the province, BC Ferries continues to advise customers to avoid non-essential travel at this time. For those who need to travel, sailings are operating at a 50 per cent passenger capacity reduction as per Transport Canada regulations.
BC Ferries’ priority is the health and safety of its customers and employees, and the company will strictly adhere to provincial and federal guidelines during this gradual resumption of service, according to the media release. The company is following directives and guidance provided by the province and Transport Canada in making changes to its services.
“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding during these extraordinary circumstances,” the release stated.
