Salish Eagle will be operating on a revised schedule from August 31 until further notice due to a mechanical difficulty with Island Discovery, according to a media release from BC Ferries.
Salish Eagle will transport passengers and vehicles between Comox, Powell River and Texada Island per the following schedule:
Comox (Little River) to Powell River (Westview)
6:15 am departing from Comox (Little River)
8:05 am departing from Powell River (Westview)
9:55 am departing from Comox (Little River)
1:15 pm departing from Powell River (Westview)
3:25 pm departing from Comox (Little River)
5:15 pm departing from Powell River (Westview)
7:10 pm departing from Comox (Little River)
10:10 pm departing from Powell River (Westview)
Powell River (Westview) to Texada (Blubber Bay)
11:35 am departing from Powell River (Westview)
12:25 pm departing from Texada (Blubber Bay)
8:45 pm departing from Powell River (Westview)
9:25 pm departing from Texada (Blubber Bay)
Regular 11:50 am and 8:45 pm sailings from Powell River to Comox will be delayed to 1:15 pm and 10:10 pm respectively to allow time for these additional sailings to/from Texada.
Water taxi service will continue to run in shuttle mode between the public docks at Van Anda on Texada Island and at Westview beginning at 7 am. This service has been made complimentary until the Island Discovery returns to service.
In the media release, BC Ferries stated that it will keep its customers posted about the timeline for repairs to Island Discovery.
