Powell River RCMP investigate theft at city works yard

Thousands of dollars worth of equipment stolen during break-in

At approximately 10 am on August 1, Powell River RCMP received a report of a break and enter at the City of Powell River works yard on Duncan Street, which had occurred sometime during the past week.

Various tools were stolen from a work van and thousands of dollars worth of equipment was taken from a fire truck. The stolen items include: seven handheld radios, one AED, two medical kits, an oxygen kit and a Stihl 034 chainsaw.

Officers are asking anyone with video surveillance in the area or anyone who may have seen anything to call local police at 604.485.6255.
