Powell River RCMP responded to a report that a man had entered the Powell River Airport lounge and pushed past employees, through the tarmac doors and onto the airport runway. Airport staff swiftly locked the building to ensure passenger safety. Police arrived and the man was arrested for mischief and held in custody to appear in front of a judge. The flight leaving Vancouver was held at the south terminal for 20 minutes until it was determined safe to depart.
