March 30: Alberni Street, 7100 block
At approximately 9:17 pm, police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver after a vehicle was seen driving on the wrong side of the road. RCMP located the vehicle in the parking lot at Town Centre mall. Police spoke to the driver, a 76-year-old male from Powell River, who showed signs of impairment by drugs. He was arrested for impaired driving and issued a 24-hour driving prohibition. His vehicle was also impounded for 24 hours. This matter is still under investigation.
