Powell River RCMP responded to 109 total calls for service from April 16 to 22, including two thefts, nine for impaired driving, two related to assaults, eight cases of mischief and seven related to mental health.
April 19
At approximately 7 pm, Powell River RCMP responded a report that a man had walked up to a ferry patron at Westview Terminal, threatened to kill him and spat in his face. A BC Ferries employee intervened and the suspect left. The ferry patron reported that the man was known to him and was identified. Police attended to the man’s residence and arrested him for uttering threats and assault and released him to appear in provincial court.
April 17
RCMP received a report that a portion of a Thule bike rack had been stolen from a truck parked at qathet General Hospital. The vehicle was parked in the lot of the hospital on April 16 between 7 and 8 pm.
March 8
An e-bike was found at Seabreeze Resort on Highway 101. The manager of the resort reported that the bike had been sitting near the washrooms of the resort for several weeks and had not been claimed by any of the residents. Anyone who is missing an e-bike or has information about a missing bike is asked to contact Powell River RCMP. The file number is File 25-1009.
