Powell River RCMP reported the following for April 9 to 15, 2020.

Break and enter: 6

April 13; Joyce Avenue, 4400 block
At approximately 7:18 am, police responded to a report of a break and enter at a business. Sometime between 4 pm on April 10 and 7:10 am on April 13, someone entered a locked compound at the rear of the building. Approximately 50 battery cores were stolen from the location, with a value of approximately $1,000.

April 14; Padgett Road, 4200 block
Police executed a search warrant at an industrial property. As a result, approximately 4,400 marijuana plants were seized along with a large amount of growing equipment. Operations of this magnitude are usually linked to organized crime. It is estimated that if the plants could have been harvested, street value would be approximately $1.25 million. This matter is under investigation and police expect to lay charges on the suspect(s).

April 15; Manson Avenue at Nelson Avenue
At approximately 1:14 am, police stopped a vehicle after it was observed to be speeding. While speaking to the driver, a 43-year-old Powell River male, police observed open liquor in the console. A breath sample was obtained from the driver which registered a “fail” on the approved screening device. The man was issued a 90-driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act.
