Tim Hortons smile cookie campaign raises nearly $5,400 for Four Tides Hospice Society

Four Tides Hospice Society was the recipient of this year’s Tim Hortons smile cookie campaign, with nearly $5,400 raised.

The hospice society was last year’s recipient of the smile cookie campaign also, and this year’s collection was $1,000 more than in 2023.

Powell River Tim Hortons store manager Mark Delos Santos said the smile cookie campaign was fun and that Four Tides is a worthy recipient of the funds.

He said it was great working with the hospice society in 2023, as well as in 2024. He said volunteers helped Tim Hortons make the cookies, which were then sold to raise funds. 100 per cent of sales go to qathet region charities and organizations.

“We made a lot of cookies,” said Delos Santos. “Hopefully, they [Four Tides] can be part of the donation again.”

Delos Santos said this year’s fundraising was significantly higher than last year’s and it is always Tim Hortons’ pleasure to be able to support the community through the smile cookie campaign.

Four Tides volunteer Cathy Fisher said society members, family and friends helped decorate the cookies.

“They supported it in a really big way this year,” said Fisher. “The money raised will go to our operational fund so we can maintain our programs and support people in our community. It will go a long way towards helping out the organization.”
