The highly anticipated Powell River Logger Sports weekend was a huge success for competitors, volunteers and audience participants, with record attendance each day.
Although the event was free, Powell River Logger Association was successful in collecting generous donations from logger sports attendees for Powell River Action Centre Food Bank (PRAC), located at 6816B Alberni Street.
According to food bank manager Savanna Dee, nearly $8,000 in donations was received.
“We [PRAC] collected $2,283 worth of food, and $5,673 in cash and cheques,” said Dee. “Once again, Powell Riverites showed their awesome generosity.”
