1. August and September long weekends
Westview Harbour
Over the past two long weekends a total of 16 marine markers (lights) have been stolen off the barges moored near the Westview ferry terminal. Eight were stolen on each occasion from two separate barges. Total value of missing property is approximately $800. 2. August 30 to September 5
Savary Island

3. September 6
Highway 101 near Emmonds Road
Powell River RCMP conducted a vehicle stop. The driver portrayed symptoms of impairment and subsequently provided breath samples into an approved screening device. It was determined the driver was over the legal limit. The driver’s licence was seized for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
RCMP remind drivers that schools have now reopened and school zones are in effect between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. Please use caution.
