Highway 101 south

Powell River RCMP received a call from a concerned citizen who reported a dangerous possibly impaired driver. The driver collided with Eagle River Bridge causing damage to their vehicle then continued to drive even though one tire was completely flat and an air bag had been deployed. The vehicle finally stopped near the Lang Bay fish hatchery where police spoke to the driver who demonstrated obvious signs of intoxication. The vehicle was impounded and the driver is now facing criminal code charges of impaired driving.

4200 block Joyce Avenue

A residence was broken into. The front door appeared to have been kicked in and a small amount of video game electronics was reported missing. A suspect, whose name has not been released, was known to the homeowner and has since been arrested and is facing charges of Break and Enter.
