Updated: Sailings to and from Westview Terminal resume

High winds caused cancellations of round-trips between Powell River, Comox and Texada on November 20

BC Ferries announced at 6:20 pm that weather conditions have improved enough to resume service between Comox and Powell River, starting with the 7:10 pm departure from Little River. The return from Westview Terminal is scheduled to depart at 8:45 pm.

BC Ferries issued the latest in a series of cancellation notices at 3:08 pm on Wednesday, November 20, announcing that the following sailings between Little River (Comox) and Westview (Powell River) terminals will not run, as a result of Environment Canada’s severe weather forecast for high winds in the Strait of Georgia this evening.

Cancelled sailings:
3:25 pm departing Little River
5:15 am departing Westview

Previously cancelled sailings:
6:15 am departing Little River
8:05 am departing Westview

9:55 am departing Little River
11:50 am departing Westview

Texada trips
At 5:16 am, BC Ferries also announced cancellations for the Blubber Bay (Texada) - Westview route. The 6 am departure from Blubber Bay and 6:50 am return did not sail due to adverse weather conditions.

At 8:01 am, BC Ferries announced further cancellations for the Blubber Bay - Westview route: 7:50 am departure from Blubber Bay and 8:35 am return.

At 10:09 am, BC Ferries announced that the 9:20 am sailing from Blubber Bay and 10:10 am return from Westview were cancelled.

At 11:20 am, BC Ferries announced that the 11:25 am sailing from Blubber Bay and 12:15 pm return from Westview were cancelled.

At 3:07 pm, BC Ferries announced that conditions had improved enough for service to resume with the 3 pm departure from Blubber Bay.
