1. February 2
A Powell River resident received a phone call stating she had won $5 million. The caller was convincing and even offered to pick up the so-called winner and escort her to the bank. The caller then requested the alleged lottery winner provide her personal information including her debit card number. When the alleged winner questioned the validity of the lottery the caller became upset and ended the conversation. This is a reminder to use caution when handing out personal information.
2. February 5
4500 block Marine Avenue
At approximately 2:40 pm a grey 2006 Volkswagen Jetta station wagon was damaged while parked in front of a business. The rear left bumper and tail light were damaged causing approximately $1,000 in damage.
3. Between February 5 and 6
4400 Manson Avenue
Sometime overnight a business was broken into. The store sustained minor damage and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
4. February 9
7400 block Covey Street
A 2014 red Yamaha 550cc ATV was stolen from a residence. If anyone has any information about this crime please contact the Powell River RCMP.
