City of Powell River Council adopted its code of conduct bylaw at a meeting on March 20.

The bylaw spells out foundational principles, governance principles, application, compliance with all laws, respect for process, general conduct, interactions with staff, interactions with the public and media, conduct of meetings, handling of confidential information, conflict of interest, gifts and use of public resources.

The bylaw, which received its first three readings earlier this month, also outlines investigation, compliance and enforcement of the bylaw.
