City of Powell River has recently received several complaints regarding metallic tasting water.
A media release from the city reports that staff members have carried out additional testing under the auspices of the provincial ministry of health throughout the distribution system and have not encountered any increases in levels of metals or other contaminants. The release stated that no concerns are apparent and the tap water is safe to consume.
Increased sampling and flushing of the system will be carried out in the short term and staff will continue to monitor content, the release concluded.
