BC Ferries cancels sailings between Texada Island and Powell River terminals

High wind conditions result in vessel holding in dock at Blubber Bay

BC Ferries advises that Island K’ulut’a sailings have been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions – high winds.

These sailings include: the 11:25 am departing Blubber Bay Terminal (Texada Island); the 12:15 pm departing Westview Terminal (Powell River); the 1 pm departing Texada Island; the 1:50 pm departing Powell River. Sailings resumed from Texada Island at 3 pm.

The BC Ferries travel advisory stated the safety of passengers and crew is of primary importance.

“We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” the advisory stated. “We will resume service as soon as it is safe to do so.

“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of this cancellation.”
