The Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast will be arriving in Powell River on Monday, September 16. The peloton will be making multiple stops at schools and local businesses throughout the day as part of the fundraising campaign and in order to engage with the community.

Save-On-Foods, in conjunction with Starbucks, will be hosting a community barbecue in the parking lot on the south side of the store. Hot dogs and coffee will be served between 10:30 am to 1 pm; the cyclists arrive for lunch and a mingle at 12:05 pm. Food and drinks are by donation and all donations go to the Canadian Cancer Society.

This year’s evening event will take place at Carlson Community Club from 5 to 8 pm with cyclists arriving at 6:10 pm. The lineup includes a burger and a beer or glass of wine, a head shave event sponsored by Scizzors Salon & Body Works and a silent auction, which includes a variety of gifts donated by our generous community businesses.

Local participant and Powell River RCMP constable Alex McNulty has raised over $8,000 so far. Donations can be made online via McNulty at Cops for Cancer Canadian Cancer Society.
