A leaning fir tree at Willingdon Beach was removed earlier today, Wednesday, September 11, in the interest of public safety. The area was inaccessible until a City of Powell River crew finished the work.
The city release the following statement: "Removing trees is a last resort, but unfortunately, in some cases, the only option. We are extremely grateful for the many years of service this beautiful tree has provided to our community."
