Powell River RCMP members will take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics this weekend at Willingdon Beach.

Everyone is invited to plunge or to come out and cheer on local first responders in support of BC’s Special Olympics athletes.

“Come early or stay afterward and enjoy a beach bonfire, a hot bowl of chilli sponsored by Saint Amore International Sandwiches and a cup of coffee or hot chocolate sponsored by Serious Coffee,” stated Powell River RCMP, in a media release. “Food and drinks are by donation and are cash only.”

The plunge takes place at noon on Sunday, February 23.

Donations can be made in support of Special Olympics British Columbia at plunge4specialolympics.crowdchange.ca/91507.  For more information, go to specialolympics.ca/bc/polarplunge.
