Powell River Health-Care Auxiliary recently announced the two recipients of its 2024 Youth Volunteer Scholarships: Amy Zaikow and Noella Dayekh.
Each recipient received $2,000, half given now and half at the beginning of their second semester. Both volunteers have spent 50-plus hours volunteering at Evergreen Extended Care and Willingdon Creek facilities, as well as other hours spent volunteering at school and for other community organizations.
“Our congratulations go out to these two volunteers,” said scholarship committee member Sue McCallum. “We wish them every success in their future studies.”
Powell River Health-Care Auxiliary offers up to 10 scholarships per year to student volunteers who fulfill the necessary requirements.
