Organizers from Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA) are inviting the public to share stories about the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945. The Canadian Armed Forces made a huge contribution to the effort to free the country from Nazi occupation at the end of World War II.
This year PRISMA is commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation to highlight not only veterans’ stories of struggle and sacrifice, but also Dutch people who may have immigrated to Canada after World War II.
PRISMA and School District 47 have partnered with Anne Frank House to bring the historical travelling exhibition to Powell River. The exhibit’s 34 panels tell the story of Anne Frank’s struggle during the war and also the wider story of the Holocaust.
Julie Couture, the Canadian representative at Anne Frank House, will be attending the event at 1 pm on Sunday, May 31 in the foyer of Max Cameron Theatre at Brooks Secondary School.
