Once you discover you’re in control of your thoughts and actions and ultimately their outcomes, you become strong, confident and unstoppable.
Acknowledge your present reality
This requires complete honesty without blame and feeling bad about your past life decisions. Take a step back and look at your situation from a new position. Improve your self-awareness and accept reality. To control your destiny, you need to know your starting point.
Examine your beliefs
Accepting reality means you take ownership of what you can change and let go of the things you can’t. If you start focusing on your life, not your neighbours or the world, you will discover strength and your amazing gift that needs to be shared with others.
You can’t change what people do or think. The only thing you can change is your mindset. Start by questioning the story you tell yourself and transform it into one that empowers you. The negative things we tell ourselves about the way we are and the way the world is only hold us back from achieving the destiny we desire.
Give positive meaning to your past
Your past is not your future unless you live there. Many of us, myself included, waste valuable time and energy focusing on past negative experiences. After all, past experiences made you who you are today.
Your past can be a source of inner strength and deep belief in yourself if you choose to give it a positive meaning. Connect with people who accomplished extraordinary things despite the hardships they experienced.
Assess your relationships
The relationships you have with your family and friends could be the source of life’s greatest pleasure or intense pain. And they can either help you with your goals or keep you stagnant.
There are times we must cut the ties with unhealthy relationships that no longer work. Removing people from your life is one of the hardest things you will ever experience. But it must be done for everybody’s growth and peace of mind.
Face your fears
Fear is a natural survival reaction that can sabotage our goals, making us powerless and weak. If you’re living in fear and never trying new things, you’re missing life opportunities and the ability to control your destiny.
When you discover the positive beliefs about who you are, let go of stories that don’t serve you anymore. What is your true purpose in life? What or who uplifts you? Imagine an extraordinary life filled with purpose and passion, a life you can only achieve when you fully control your destiny.
Once you discover new possibilities, they will lead you to the life you desire. Stop relying on others to make you feel a certain way or waiting around for them to get on the same page. You have all the tools you need; the rest is up to you.
I just love this quote: “It is our decisions, not the conditions of our lives, that determine our destiny.” ~ Tony Robbins
