December 5, 1948 - July 1, 2022
Wendy_Norgren (1)

It is with full hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Wendy, on July 1, 2022.

Joining her dear husband Arvine, who passed away in 2014, Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her children Richard (Kyla) and Laura (Bobby); grandchildren Erika (Nick), Amy (Dustin), Tyliah, Daniel and Isaac; great-granddaughters Hallewyn and Adria; siblings Bob (Kathy), Dennis (Gaettenne), Lori (Roy), Maureen (Earl), Diane (Roy) and Kelly; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and honorary grandchildren.

Wendy was born in New Westminster, grew up in Gibsons, and eventually moved to Powell River, where she married and started her family. Wendy was an amazing baker, and in the 1980s she and Arvine opened the Old Courthouse Inn and Vault Cafe, where she became famous for her delicious pies and warm hospitality. She loved to read and create (an artist at heart) and was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Wendy was a selfless, loving and caring person who put her heart and soul into making sure her family was taken care of till the very end. She touched every person she met with gentleness and grace that can never be forgotten.

Mamma, we know you are holding hands with Papa looking down on all of us. Rest easy, we are all going to be okay.

Love, your family.
