It saddens us to announce the sudden passing of Leif Erickson.
Leif was born in Duncan, BC, to Vern and Adelaide Erickson.
Adelaide passed away in 1960. Vern married again to Edna. They moved their family over to Powell River in 1962 and lived in a small home in the middle of Westview.
Growing up in a family that was dedicated to the logging world, Leif was bound to end up as a faller. He started as a faller in 1974, and he thoroughly enjoyed this line of work. His dad and two younger brothers, Derrick and Jeff, were in a small logging business together during the ’80s. He retired as a faller in 2002.
Leif is survived by his son Branden (Jenny); grandchildren Karin and Nils-Graem; siblings Terry (Terry), Derrick (Sharon), Sharon (Bill), Jeff (Francie), Leona (Ron) and Stephanie (Doug); as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Vern and Adelaide, stepmother Edna, and brother Ken.
His main pride and joy was his son Branden and his grandchildren, who brought the brightest smile upon his face.
Leif requested no service, but his family and friends at the Cranberry Bar will be holding an informal drop-in to remember him on October 1, 2022, starting at 1:30 pm. Please bring along any old pictures of Leif.
