Just saying goodbye to everyone.
Diane, aka Mrs. Arkell, was born in Nova Scotia in 1937. She grew up with eight siblings in New Brunswick.
In 1959, as one of the only women to graduate, Diane and her friends headed west, finally landing in Haida Gwaii and finding work together, teaching at a high school in Queen Charlotte City.
In 1964, with her family in tow, they moved on to Powell River. Here she lived out her life, devoting her time and love to family, friends, and many students, of whom she touched their lives and hearts.
Diane leaves behind three children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, along with many dear friends and family.
She will be missed by all.
