The family of Joe Brown is profoundly sad to announce his passing on December 29, 2022, at the age of 93. His last days were spent with family and in the care of the amazing nurses at Willingdon Creek Village (WCV) in Powell River.
Joe is survived by his daughters Vicki (Jim), Diana (Loren) and Becky (Ron), precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as sister-in-law Donna (Gary), nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, loving wife Shirley, granddaughter Lindsay, daughter Lorraine and granddaughters Dawn and Tara-Leigh.
Joe was born in Brandon, Manitoba. He moved as a young man to Penticton, BC, where he met his wife-to-be Shirley. As a young couple, they moved to Powell River, where they raised their four daughters. He was employed by M&B and worked as a paper maker for many years. Eventually, he left and worked in Mackenzie, BC, for two years before retirement.
Over the years, Joe and Shirley enjoyed many travels: Hawaii, Las Vegas, Mexico and Eastern Canada. Locally, boating, camping and fishing also created many great memories.
The family would like to thank Dr. Burns, Dr. Bonsor, the staff and the nurses at WCV for their professional, compassionate care over these years.
Joe was loved by many and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. No service by request.
Dad, Rest In Peace!
