An eight-month-old American bulldog with a heart-of-gold, named Winnie, is waiting at BC SPCA-Powell River for a foster-to-adopt placement in qathet, while awaiting a spay and cherry eye surgery.
A message from BC SPCA-Powell River on social media emphasized that, while Winnie is fully deaf, that doesn’t stop her from being the life of the party.
"In fact, her charming antics and quirky sounds ensure that there’s never a dull moment when she’s around," stated the message. "Winnie is bursting with energy and is always ready for an adventure, whether it’s a fun game of fetch or zooming around in the yard."
A description of the friendly canine in need of a home indicates that Winnie absolutely adores people, especially children, and has a playful spirit that’s hard to resist.
BC SPCA-Powell River has a gentle reminder that: “This gal sometimes forgets how strong she is, so a little caution is key when she’s around small children. Being so young, Winnie is still learning the ways of the world.”
Winnie knows the basics, such as sit and lay down, but she is looking for someone to continue her ongoing training.
"Having to learn everything with only hand signals, it can be tougher and take some extra time and patience," stated BC SPCA-Powell River. "But we have no doubt that with the right person, Winnie will thrive and learning these new queues and tricks will be a breeze."
Winnie is looking for a home where she is the only animal. Unfortunately, she doesn’t like to share her people with other animals.
