On this day:
In 1910, Saskatchewan’s Canadian Football League team was named Regina Roughriders, which was changed to Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1948.

In 1996, rapper Tupac Shakur was shot multiple times from a moving vehicle in Las Vegas. He died six days later.

In 2002, Canadian tennis player Leylah Annie Fernandez was born in Montreal.
