Horseshoe Bay ferry users warned of GranFondo delays Saturday

BC Ferries is reminding Bowen Island, Nanaimo and Sunshine Coast customers of the downtown Vancouver to Whistler GranFondo cycling event and related closures Saturday morning.

People travelling to and from BC Ferries' Horseshoe Bay terminal by vehicle Saturday, Sept. 9, before 9:30 a.m. are warned to beware of delays and detours in West Vancouver. 

BC Ferries is reminding Bowen Island, Nanaimo and Sunshine Coast customers of the downtown Vancouver to Whistler GranFondo cycling event and related closures:

  • The Stanley Park Causeway and Lions Gate Bridge will be closed to northbound traffic 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. (Vehicles can instead use the Second Narrows Bridge.)
  • The eastbound lanes of the Upper Levels Highway between Horseshoe Bay and Taylor Way will be closed 5:30 to 9:30 a.m. (Vehicles will be redirected to Marine Drive.)

Trucks more than 20 metres long and more than 40,000 Kg GVW are advised they may wish to take alternative sailings as such vehicles headed eastbound will be held at Exit 0 on Highway 1 until 9:30 a.m.
