Two dead after small plane crashes near Chilliwack Lake

BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board are both investigating the crash.

Chilliwack RCMP were called to a report of a plane crash on April 5 2025.

Two people are dead after a single-engine plane crash in Chilliwack on Saturday. 

Chilliwack RCMP were called to the crash at 3:30 p.m. on April 5. The crash site was roughly eight kilometres east of Chilliwack Lake.

The two people were on a Cessna 172 aircraft.

Chilliwack Search and Rescue was deployed to find the wreckage. 

SAR members located the site and found two people dead. 

RCMP Sgt. Vanessa Munn says the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre co-ordinated resources to remove the people from the site. 

BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board are both investigating the crash. 

No further details about the individuals on the aircraft are being released.
